This is our second church plant - started with 30 people from our first church plant, Living Word now runs approximately 50 people on Sunday mornings. We have children?s ministry, teen ministry, youth ministry, family ministry, women?s ministry, a ministry to widows, and one home group. We utilize contemporary praise music along with classic hymns, sung in either Ukrainian or Russian language, led by a small praise team. We also sing some traditional liturgical songs in Hebrew, the native tongue of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One of these, Mi Kamocha (Who Is Like Thee), was most likely sung by our Lord Himself as He attended synagogue; the words of which were written 3,500 years ago by Moses. We owe a great debt to the Jews for keeping this rich heritage alive through thousands of years of dispersion.
Our service lasts approximately 2 hours with nearly half of that being praise and worship, corporate Scripture reading, followed by the sermon preached in English and translated into Ukrainian. To our knowledge, we are the only church in Lviv which has English preaching and therefore we are host to many short and long term English speaking visitors to Lviv. If you are ever planning to be in Lviv, let us know and we?ll gladly direct you to our rented meeting place.
